TERMS & CONDITIONS

Staff and Site All sessions are run by a DBS checked and OCN Level 3 Qualified Forest School Leader. The leader is also First Aid trained and has risk assessed the site, ensuring that there is a safe experience for the learners. The Forest School site is also fenced to ensure clear boundaries.

Insurance The Red Forest School holds Public Liability Insurance.

Weather Forest School operates throughout the whole year and in all weather with the exception of winds above 42mph or above. If we do cancel a session because of the weather we will notify you and offer you an alternative session or a refund.

Clothing So your child has a positive forest school experience please dress your child according to the weather. We have the right to refuse a child if they are not dressed appropriately. In the winter layers of warm clothes are important, waterproof trousers, waterproof jacket and boots. In the summer months long sleeve t shirts, long trousers, sturdy shoes (not flip flops or sandals) and a hat. Please remember to put sun lotion on them as well.

Payments, Refunds and cancellation

School and group bookings (e.g. class visits / sessions)

A ‘school’ or ‘group’ includes any group representing a number of people (such as children or adults) visiting or using The Red Forest School services such as primary schools, secondary schools, independent schools, pre-school nurseries, child-minding groups, scout groups and similar.

A deposit of £50 is required at the time of booking unless agreed in writing by The Red Forest School in which case an invoice will be issued.  Full payment must be made by the group/school and received (by us) at least 7 days prior to the session unless agreed otherwise by The Red Forest School.
Late payment of the full amount may result in cancellation of bookings and any part payments up until that time will be forfeited. Any delay in this payment may result in your space(s) being released to others.  Therefore, delayed payments DO NOT guarantee a booking of space(s).  In such cases where a delayed payment is received after the space(s) have been released to others and there are no longer any spaces available, a full refund will be made.

If anyone fails to attend the session (or in the case of multiple sessions, to attend any part of the series of multiple sessions) you have booked, the prepayment for that person will be forfeited. If any additional persons attend the session (or in the case of multiple sessions, attend any part of the series of multiple sessions), additional payment for such persons is required on the day

Should your group/school be unable to attend the session (or in the case of multiple sessions, to attend any part of the series of multiple sessions) the full prepayment for the session will be forfeited. Note: It is important that you notify us as soon as possible regarding attendance issues as we will endeavour to reschedule wherever practicable – an additional fee may be applicable.

It is the responsibility of the school / group to carry out risk assessments for the site, including the environment, activities as well as arrival and departure procedures, taking into account their group’s needs. Any specific risks identified must be communicated in writing to The Red Forest School with reasonable advanced timing to enable agreement regarding effective and timely management steps.

It is the responsibility of the school / group to provide adequate adult:child ratios in order to control the group in terms of instructions and safety rules (both written and verbal).  Adult:child ratios provided by the school / group must be in line with current legislation and respective LEA / Local Authority requirements / guidelines and it is the responsibility of the school / group to ensure that these requirements are met.

It is the responsibility of the school / group to ensure the welfare and well being of their group, including all individuals, both children and adults, at all times.

The school / group is responsible for gaining prior consent from parents / guardians of children attending the session, including making them fully aware of the environment and types of activities and they are responsible during the session for maintaining fast and easy access to emergency contact details for the children’s parents / guardians i.e. telephone contact numbers.

Activities may take place in woodland, grass areas, muddy areas and the open countryside. These environments have hazards such as trees, branches, logs, sticks, twigs, uneven ground, rocks, stones and mud. It is the responsibility of each individual, both children and adults, to take reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others in these environments. Activities may include running, walking, sitting, kneeling, climbing in these environments such as active team games, den / shelter building, tree climbing, camp fire lighting, cooking, and using tools. It is the responsibility of each individual, both children and adults, to take all reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others during Activities.

In the unlikely event of an accident, or loss or damage to any individual’s personal effects, Woodland Adventurers will not be liable for any direct or indirect loss, arising from or in connection with the activities or the site and you will waive any claims against Woodland Adventurers in this respect.

All attendees, both children and adults agree to be bound by our instructions and safety rules. Any person that is unable to comply with our instructions or safety rules (both written and verbal) will be excluded from the session without refund.

These Terms and Conditions contain important information concerning participation by you and members of your party in the Activities provided by The Red Forest School and, accordingly, you acknowledge and agree that you shall ensure that all members of your party are aware of and accept these Terms and Conditions.

Party bookings

All bookings are subject to availability. Deposit of £50 must be made at the time of booking.  Any delay in this payment may result in your space(s) being released to others.
Full payment is required at least 7 days prior to the Party. Failure to make full payment at least 7 days prior to the Party will result in the date (and time) being released, unless agreed otherwise by The Red Forest Warehouse in writing.

If anyone fails to attend the event on the date you have booked, the prepayment for that person will be forfeited. If any additional persons attend the event, additional payment for such persons will be required on the day of the party.

Should you be unable to attend on the day the full prepayment for the Party will be forfeited. Note: It is important that you notify us as soon as possible regarding attendance issues as we will endeavour to reschedule wherever practicable – an additional fee may be applicable.

On some occasions The Red Forest Warehouse may decide to cancel events due to safety conditions such as high winds or heavy rain.  If this occurs Woodland Adventurers will seek to reschedule the event or provide a full refund.

Please note we are unable to accept liability for any errors resulting from data which you have supplied incorrectly, whether by telephone, email or otherwise. In addition, we are unable to accept liability for any issues that result from omission of relevant data such as specific health / medical issues or specific food / dietary issues.  Information we require includes the following:

For children’s parties – Parent’s / Guardian’s name, Child’s name, Address, Contact telephone number(s), Email address, Number of children, Ages of children, Specific food requirements (e.g. vegetarian), Relevant health / medical issues.

For grown-up parties – Name, Address, Contact telephone number(s), Email address, Number of grown-ups, Number of children (if applicable), Ages of children (if applicable), Specific food requirements (e.g. vegetarian), Relevant health / medical issues.

The Red Forest School is not a manufacturer of food and therefore is reliant on food ingredients stated by manufacturers on the respective packaging.

At least two responsible adult must remain with the group at all times and they take overall responsibility for the welfare and well being of the group, including responsibility for any individual child’s medication in terms of safe storage and administration.  This adult is responsible for gaining prior consent from parents / guardians of children attending the party, including making them fully aware of the environment and types of Activities and they are responsible during the party for maintaining fast and easy access to emergency contact details for the children’s parents / guardians i.e. telephone contact numbers.

Activities may take place in woodland, grass areas, muddy areas and the open countryside. These environments have hazards such as trees, branches, logs, sticks, twigs, uneven ground, rocks, stones and mud. It is the responsibility of each individual, both children and adults, to take reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others in these environments. Activities may include running, walking, sitting, kneeling, climbing in these environments such as active team games, den / shelter building, tree climbing, camp fire lighting, cooking, and using tools. It is the responsibility of each individual, both children and adults, to take all reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others during Activities.

In the unlikely event of an accident, or loss or damage to any individual’s personal effects, The Red Forest School will not be liable for any direct or indirect loss, arising from or in connection with the Activities or the site.

All attendees, both children and grown-ups agree to be bound by our instructions and safety rules. Any person that is unable to comply with our instructions or safety rules (both written and verbal) will be excluded from the session without refund.

Mini-Adventurers / Toddler group bookings

When payment is made on-line this must be made at the time of booking.

Each session lasts for the time stated during the booking process unless confirmed

If  you cancel your booking or any part of your booking with more than 24 hours notice of the date of the session you booking will be transferred to another date.

If you cancel your booking or any part of your booking within 24 hours of the date of the session 100% of the booking fee is payable to The Red Forest School and will be forfeited.

If anyone fails to attend the session on the date you have booked the full prepayment for that person will be forfeited. If any additional persons attend the event, additional payment for such persons will be required on the day of the session.  Note: It is important that you notify us as soon as possible regarding attendance issues as we will endeavour to reschedule wherever practicable – an additional fee may be applicable.

On some occasions The Red Forest School may decide to cancel events due to safety conditions such as high winds or heavy rain.  If this occurs The Red Forest School will seek to reschedule and communicate any changes via this website or other agreed communication method.

Activities may take place in woodland, grass areas, muddy areas and the open countryside. These environments have hazards such as trees, branches, logs, sticks, twigs, uneven ground, rocks, stones and mud. It is the responsibility of each individual, both children and adults, to take reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others in these environments. Activities may include running, walking, sitting, kneeling, climbing in these environments such as active team games, den / shelter building, tree climbing, camp fire lighting, cooking, and using tools,. It is the responsibility of each individual, both children and adults, to take all reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others during Activities.

Holiday clubs (and similar) bookings

Note: including all Holiday, Sunday Morning, Pre-school, After-school, Youth, Social clubs and similar.

Where payment is required on-line this must be made at the time of booking.  Any delay in this payment (i.e. long time gap between starting your booking and making the payment through PayPal) may result in your space(s) being released to others.  Therefore delayed payments DO NOT guarantee a booking of space(s).  In such cases where a delayed payment is received after the space(s) have been released to others and there are no longer any spaces available, a full refund will be made.

Full payment must be made to The Red Forest school at the time of booking or at least 7 days prior to the session.

If  you cancel your booking or any part of your booking with more than 90 days notice of the date of the session 50% of the attributable booking fee is payable to The Red Forest School and will be forfeited.

If you cancel your booking or any part of your booking within 90 days of the date of the event 100% of the booking fee is payable to The Red Forest School and will be forfeited.

If anyone fails to attend the event on the date you have booked, the prepayment for that person will be forfeited. If any additional persons attend the event, additional payment for such persons will be required on the day of the session.  Note: It is important that you notify us as soon as possible regarding attendance issues as we will endeavour to reschedule wherever practicable – an additional fee may be applicable.

On some occasions The Red Forest School may decide to cancel events due to safety conditions such as high winds or heavy rain.  If this occurs The Red Forest School will seek to reschedule the event or provide a full refund.
